If you told me a decade ago that I'd be leading three businesses today, I would have laughed it off and called you crazy. My journey into entrepreneurship was anything but planned. I spent years teaching PE and serving as a Head Department and Head of Year 9, both in the UK and abroad. But then, I attended a talk on modern-day slavery that changed everything. Suddenly, my dream job felt less important than fighting for justice and equality.This commitment to social justice runs through everything I do. I founded Just Helpers, a multi award winning ethical cleaning agency, to ensure our team earns above the London Living Wage. It's about valuing people and their hard work. Then came Justly, a tech platform designed for the cleaning industry It will be a SaaS platform designed for the cleaning industry and owned by small companies in the industry. It’s not just about optimising business operations; it’s about proving that fair pay and efficient practices can positively impact the bottom line. And finally, Entreplaneurs, a vibrant community where women in business support and champion each other.Starting Just Helpers was a whirlwind. As a sole trader, I juggled it with two other jobs, initially just offering ten hours a week. Yet, the demand grew rapidly because I went above and beyond for my clients. Fast forward over ten years, and we’ve expanded to a team of over 40, with a turnover exceeding £1 million.My personal experience as a care leaver has deeply influenced my passion for helping individuals thrive. Running businesses is exhilarating, but my true calling is supporting those who need it most. I envision creating a foundation that offers grants and mentoring to entrepreneurial young adults leaving the care system. It’s my way of giving back, helping them shape their own life stories.Through every venture, my mission remains clear: to champion fairness, empower others, and drive change.
