I have been around engineering my whole life. Both of my parents are engineers and I got the engineering 'bug' at a young age. My experience reflects this, as I have worked for a machine shop and a fabrication shop which both enhanced my knowledge from a manufacturing and fabrication standpoint. So far, my education at the Colorado School of Mines in Mechanical Engineering is going well, and so far I've earned a 3.89 GPA. In addition to my major, I'm planning on earning a minor in Mining Engineering, with hopes of gaining employment as a mechanical engineer in that field. Also, on the side I run a small bowling equipment business. This has been invaluable to me as I've gained many soft skills, such as customer service, accounting, and business-related problem solving, just to name a few. Some additional skills I've gained along the way include welding, machining (manual and CNC), SolidWorks, SketchUp, and all school-related theory concepts. Additionally, my work with the fabrication shop allowed me to learn how to talk with a customer, measure, model, design and create shop drawings for a project.
