Responsible for planning, directing, and controlling the performance and execution of Aviation Maintenance Department functions at the organizational and intermediate levels.Responsible for technician aircraft maintenance and aeronautical repair that ensure the unit's combat readiness or ability to perform its mission.Must be able to establish department goals and to develop the plans to meet those goals. A high level of expertise is required to supervise the execution of various tasks encompassed within the wide spectrum of aviation maintenance matters. Has a detailed, working knowledge of all Navy-sponsored aviation maintenance programs and processes governed by OPNAVINST 4790.2(series). in addition, aviation maintenance controllers/production controllers must have detailed knowledge of the Naval Aviation Logistics Command Management Information Systems (NALCOMIS)

Has effective leadership skills including the use of performance evaluators, mentorship, and communication skills; demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills understanding the impact of words and deeds on the meaning of messages; apply effective decision-making techniques to solve individual and organizational problems; and apply management principals to operations and training events at the individual and small team level, including organizing events, coordinating resources, and establishment and evaluation of goals and objectives

Collateral Duty Inspectors(CDI) assigned to production work centers shall inspect all work and comply with required Quality Assurance (QA) inspections during all maintenance actions performed by their respective work centers. CDI's are responsible to the Quality Assurance Officer when performing QA functions. CDI's shall spot check all work in progress and be familiar with the provisions and responsibilities of the various programs managed and audited by QA

Helicopter airframe mechanics, CH-53; inspect, ,maintain, and repair helicopter airframe systems. Level III indicates that the individual can perform all essential tasks without supervision. Level III incorporates applicable directives and change in bulletins; detects corrosion and performs corrosion control; performs required scheduled and unscheduled inspections, utility and flight control hydraulic systems, rotor systems, APU and main engine hydraulic systems, aircraft structural repairs; demonstrates knowledge of applicable publications, diagrams and drawings; and supervises and verifies task completion. Level IV indicates a high level of proficiency in job performance; the individual can perform advanced technical functions, instructions, inspections, and supervision. Level IV performs advanced technical functions; supervises maintenance shop personnel and tasks; organizes and prioritizes maintenance projects; utilizes computer applications; prepares reports and briefings; interfaces with industry representatives; supervises advancement and training off level III's and maintenance quality assurance.

Lead small teams; demonstrate basic skills of leadership; demonstrate written and oral communication; identify both individual and group safety factors; conduct an operations risk assessments

Responsible for the upkeep of facility grounds; cleaning of and upkeep of facility buildings, and management of facility maintenance resources and equipment.
