Freelance contracts, including work for a start-up. I worked solo & in teams as a full-stack developer.Achievements:• Designed and created Node.js back ends for three web applications. I was responsible for both planning and execution: elaborating API architectures (monolith, microservices), deciding on protocols and principles (HTTP, REST, GraphQL), drafting API specifications, building data models, selecting databases (SQL, NoSQL), frameworks (Express.js, Nest.js) and other software, and ultimately writing code in TypeScript and test suites for it.• Reviewed and fully refactored legacy JavaScript front-end and back-end codebase to TypeScript for one of the applications. • Contributed to major new features of the applications on both ends of the development, including bulk POS data processing, secure user authorization, in-app user messaging, responsive layouts, media handling, geospatial services, Google API integration and many more.• Translated designs into actual web app layouts with either plain HTML & CSS or frameworks & libraries. Programmed dozens of functional React and Angular components for the front ends while keeping the state of the app manageable by using Redux with React and built-in libraries & services with Angular.• Handled deployment of the applications using both managed solutions (cloud platforms like AWS or Digital Ocean) and the old-school approach of renting out a server, configuring nginx reverse proxy, starting & managing Node.js processes.• Maintained Git workflow and high standards of team communication throughout.
