Autonomy Inc acquired Interwoven in March 2009.Lead the task of bringing several non-hosted Autonomy products to the Cloud. Worked with several remote engineering teams to alter their products and convert them to true SaaS multi-channel and in cases multi-tenant solutions.Lead the San Francisco team to completing a substantial part of the development of the Digital Safe Monitoring solution. This safety critical system hosts information spanning across 90% of the US financial organizations utilizing over 6000 physical servers. The new monitoring solution is fully hosted and manages alerts of a software and hardware nature.Spearheaded the efforts, in the US, of re-architecting Introspect 6, a eDiscovery product, aiming to increase reliability, performance and usability. In less than a year my team added over 2200 unit tests to the codebase. We refactored the UI changing dramatically the way the user interacted with the review tool and finally optimized queries to IDOL to increase response time.Influenced the re-organization of Introspect development in a more structured, agile, manner introducing XP to the Cambridge development team while bridging the gap between IDOL, QA and Sales engineering teams. This resulted in managing much larger clients in review effortlessly.Successfully continued to manage the Discovery Mining Systems team and hardware infrastructure including two Data centers (US and UK) with over 450 production worthy servers globally.

Discovery Mining was acquired in August 2008 by Interwoven.While maintaining all Discovery Mining engineering responsibilities the main additional project (since joining Interwoven) involved leading the development of a new Real Time Statistics engine (NOC). This fully hosted solution was designed to monitor the Discovery Mining services 24/7. It enabled our Services team to better understand client interaction with our system and therefore provide better support. Furthermore production engineering and ops benefited from this as they were able to proactively tune the system to ensure the highest quality of client experience.Worked closely with the Product Management team to define product direction and execute on merged (iwov & dm) product roadmap ensuring that only features focused on client needs and company growth were developed. Worked closely with the Project management team in a continued effort of understanding (feedback cycle) the needs of our clients aiding to incremental software improvements.

As a member of the executive team I worked closely with the CEO, COO, VP of Sales & VP of Client Services to define the overall company strategy and direction leading to a private sale to Interwoven Inc in 2008. DiscoveryMining was awarded position #188 in the 500 fastest growing companies in 2007 in the US and made the US top 5 electronic discovery service provider list at the 2008 Socha-Gelbmann survey.My immediate focus was to re-architect and scale the backend processing cluster to handle more than 1GB of data processing a day. The end product was able to achieve 1TB/day processing with the ability to generate 24m tiff images in 24h and support processing of over 40 languages and 400+ file formats. This new system was fully distributed, highly available running in the cloud utilizing 150 physical servers. Furthermore it was designed to be elastic allowing us to add processing capacity by just adding hardware at any time (zero engineering cost).Spearheaded the re-write of the discovery review tool platform interface altering the architecture to support 100s of legal teams in active review on cases of 100s of million documents. The final version of this fully hosted solution run on 250 servers and was designed to prevent a client outage or data loss even if 80% of its hardware was to go offline.Facilitated the growth of the engineering team from 3 to 15 and retained these employees despite the highly competitive market in the Bay area. Re-architected engineering and switched the team to XP programming using agile methodologies with focus on testing first (TDD, 3000 unit tests, 1000 integration tests, hundreds of javascript tests) and achieved up to 50 stable releases a year.
