I conduct ethnographic research focused on youth violence, violence prevention, and the role of civil society organisations in Honduras, using participatory research methods.

educate. is a grassroots non-profit organisation that works to empower children and young people in Honduras through supporting community-driven initiatives focused on education. We run a high school and university scholarship programme for rural youth, a Youth Center and Public Library, and a network of school-based community libraries, as well as youth programmes in STEM, art, sport, and communications. Throughout our work, we actively promote a bottom-up community and youth leadership model and a gender transformative approach.

Beyond Beans implements sustainability programs across agricultural supply chains, primarily in cocoa, cashew and coffee. As the Marketing and Communications Lead, I managed our branding and website development, wrote in-depth monthly articles on our programmes and impact, developed client reports and press releases, and oversaw our social media and external communications partnerships. As the Junior Programme Manager for Latin America I oversaw the setup of our sustainability office and programmes in Ecuador with 300+ smallholder cocoa farmers.

Illicities is an international research group focused on organised crime and urbanisation, with the goal of examining how criminal practices inform urban governance arrangements between state and non-state, licit and illicit actors. My work as a member of this group focused on criminalised urban governance arrangements in Honduras.

InSight Crime is a foundation dedicated to the study of organised crime in Latin America and the Caribbean. My role included: - Regional monitoring of organised crime in Latin America- Pitching article ideas in editorial meetings - Researching and collecting data on criminal economies in Venezuela, including drug trafficking, illegal mining, contraband, black markets and extortion, and investigating the role of non-state armed groups in these economies.- Conducting interviews (in Spanish) with Venezuelan journalists and municipal-level politicians- Translating documents from Spanish to English

I worked as part of a consultancy team in collaboration with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs on a project regarding visa instruments and readmission agreements with third countries.

I worked as a camera operator at public events around The Hague, while receiving professional training in filming, editing and production work from leaders in the Dutch television industry. A highlight of this role involved filming a TV interview with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands.

Plan International supports the rights of girls around the world. I worked in the communications department at the Regional Office of the Americas, coordinating the internal communications website and blog and creating a weekly bilingual newsletter of the work happening across the Latin American region. I also researched and created digital content including articles, newsletters, videos, infographics and reports, translated written materials between English and Spanish, and participated in meetings and conferences.

I co-filmed, produced, directed and edited a feature-length investigative documentary film about the influence of the United States in Honduras and the Central American immigration crisis. This included interviewing migrants and refugees across Honduras, Guatemala and Mexico along the migrant trail north from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, as well as conducting in-depth research and editing the final documentary. The film was later screened at a UNICEF event in Amsterdam where I spoke on a discussion panel alongside other experts on migration and conflict in Central America.

Full-time position in Honduras, working as a teacher and mentor with street children in El Progreso. I taught and mentored 39 children aged 2-17, most of whom were orphans or social orphans; ran a daily Kindergarten class; conducted small-group tutoring sessions; home-schooled several primary-aged children who had been expelled from school; assisted with physical therapy for two physically disabled boys; organised activities to keep children entertained on weekends; and conducted organisational and administrative work in the home.

I worked as the head ZIS Middle School kayak club instructor, planning and leading tri-weekly lessons, supporting the running of weekend trips to local rivers, and organising and leading multiple holiday camps using American Canoe Association (ACA) Level 1 and 2 curriculum.
