As the EHS Lead for a wide part of Central & Eastern Europe, I ensure legal and corporate compliance, develop EHS strategies and annual plans, focus on digitalization, simplification, and address mainly biological and ionizing radiation safety in medical facilities. I foster an EHS mindset across the region, support the EMEA EHS Director with communication, and contribute to global EHS projects for continuous improvement. Additionally, I play a role in emergency preparedness and response, having led for instance the emergency response during the massive shooting at a university in Prague in December 2023, as well as the nationwide flooding crisis in the Czech Republic in September 2024.

5th Tank Project, FLUXYS, Zeebrugge, BelgiumRented for the project main contractor Altrad Industrial Projects & Maintenance GmbHMy role, as deputy HSE manager on the project was to obtain the HSE management and to lead all related tasks together with the HSE manager of the project. Together we led the safety department, participated and led the meetings, communicated with the client and other contractors. On the project more than 250 workers were involved and this required big efforts from the HSE department. My role in this was steering of 5 safety officers and the required fire watches. On the other hand I was fully responsible for all the administration and actions linked to our activities:-Toolbox talks to workers and supervisors-Solving all the safety observations reports-Reporting and proper investigating of unwanted events as incidents, near misses, etc.-Investigation and preparation of root cause analysis -Suggesting and ensuring that all corrective and preventive safety measures are done and followed-Organising the emergency procedure + emergency drills-Leading emergency situations-HSE management reporting towards home office and client-Participating the management safety walks and meetings-Preparing detailed internal reports with pictures, explanation of mistakes, wrong behaviours and appropriate safety measures-Education and training of workers and leaders (HSE-trainings)-Personal documents control-Solving the remarks of the project safety coordinator -Checking the safety observations of the safety officers and taking the necessary actions to close the issues out

SYRA4 Project, YARA, Köping, SwedenI started on the project as a safety officer in May ,2017 when I was supervising people outside in the field for some time. Later on I got more responsibilities and I became a deputy HSE manager when I was working together with Altrad's HSE Manager on site. When HSE Manager left the project after mechanical completion, the function was handed over to me. I was in charge for Altrad`s HSE department on site during the commissioning phase of the project. Then I continued with another 2 safety officers on site. Altrad as a subcontractor had around approx. 200 people working on site.During this project I went through the CONSTRUCTION phase and COMMISSIONING as well. During 1,5 year on this project I was doing following:- Toolbox talks to all employees - Supporting another safety officers on site and later on mainly the HSE manager in the office- During the construction phase I was directly reporting all the issues to the HSE manager- Solving all the incidents, safety observation reports and working on the preventive measures- During the commissioning phase I was directly supporting the client when officially highlighting all the unsafe conditions & behaviours and every breach towards commissioning safety procedures - Controlling all the activities to ensure the safety of Hertel`s workers, who have been a part of the commissioning phase

Since childhood I have been visiting the fire houses nearby. When I reached 18, I started partially working for the fire department while I studied firefighting. During this time period I got very interesting experiences in traffic accidents rescues, fighting the fires, helping and rescuing in all different crisis situations. I was also a shift paramedic.During my studies and also afterwards I worked 12 hour shifts here. After 2 years of duty I went abroad where I found out the potential of HSE.While I was in duty I have been a part of a special traffic accidents rescue team as a specialised paramedic. Except the real calls, there were also national championships in rescuing injured people out of crashed cars. Our team won the first prize in Czech championships several times.
