Resident Expert of the Countering Serious Crime in Western Balkan based in Sarajevo (BiH)The goal of the project is to support our partner institutions in the Western Balkans in overcoming barriers and enable them to arrest or prosecute criminals in line with EU rules and regulations on their path to EU accession. to strengthen the operational capabilities of Western Balkan law enforcement and security authorities to fight serious and organised crime and terrorism (operational support)to support the relevant authorities to effectively participate in and contribute to EU and intra-regional cooperation structures and assessments (strategic cooperation)to strengthen the capabilities of Western Balkan law enforcement and security authorities to exchange information (interoperability ofinformation systems)

I joined the Guardia di Finanza in 1993 to attend the Academy. After concluding five years of military training and university education I have had the opportunity to work for more than fourteen years in a law enforcement environment, most of which spent in a senior management role, particularly in the field of fraud and swindle and MTIC frauds.My knowledge and expertise in relation to financial investigations both at national and international level are extensive. Having worked as an ELO at Europol, liaison and cooperation work between countries both at bilateral and multilateral level have become part of my experiences.My computer literacy includes not only Microsoft Office applications, but also several data and knowledge management systems as well as tools for the exploitation of open source intelligence.I also daily use project management software and mind mapping applications.

Head of the Unit - MTIC fraud, anti corruption and money laundering. Manage and lead a Unit in charge of fiscal checks in Venezia. I carrying out financial investigations in anti corruption area and money laundering.

The purpose of the mandate is to support and assist the project team to provide excellent operational and analytical (with dedicated analysis tools) support to criminal investigators engaged in combating MTIC fraud. Additionally, this particular fiscal crime area requires specific skills and operational knowledge, which may vary from MS to MS, and where specific national systems require specific expertise. Support the activities of the Europol FP MTIC team and the FP MTIC Analysis Group, including the composition of the Analysis Group Database.Participate in project meetings and presentations to market Europol’s FP MTIC and to promote and enhance co-operation in the EURepresent Europol at specialised conferences and fora, including giving presentations to market Europol’s operational capabilities and enhance law enforcement co-operation.Develop liaison and relationships with Member States’ Europol National Units and with other organisations.
