Currently there are no medicines that can effectively fight the disease or slow its progression significantly. Alternative therapeutic strategies are therefore being sought urgently. Regarding the multifunctional and multitargeted characteristics of herbal extracts, these functional supplements appear to be the only chance we have to try and delay or possibly prevent the onset of AD. Contributory Factors The difficulties the elderly have in taking tablets or pills or acquiring a sufficient quantity of antioxidant and protective elements through their food, both because of their metabolism (a reduced capacity of assimilation) and also because of the limited availability of processed bio-foods, and other factors due to old age.OUR PROPOSED AIM1. To formulate a specific nutritional supplement for the elderly in a new guise (No Pills – No Caps) which is comparable to an easily chewable food with a pleasant taste and an insignificant caloric sugars content (free use for hyperglycemic people).2.
