As Principal Urban Design Officer at Dacorum Borough Council (DBC), Antonio is working on the emerging Hemel Place and Town Centre Strategy. the project aims to address the town centre key challenges, deliver an increased provision of cultural and leisure facilities, generate new opportunities for businesses and provide a vibrant housing mix. The strategy includes public realm interventions that recapture lost footfall and encourage new visits by opening up parts of the town centre that are struggling to attract investments. The proposals introduce new cycle routes and footways to encourage transport modal shift, put people first and address the climate emergency. The new vision for the Hemel Town Centre was approved by DBC’s Cabinet in July 2023. Antonio was involved in the engagement with the community, land owners and other stakeholders, and the organisation of workshops to facilitate partnership as well as building consensus, trust and respect between different groups. As part of his role at DBC, Antonio also reviewed large planning applications and provided urban design and spatial planning advice to achieve high quality design within the borough. Antonio also advised on the emerging Framework and Transport Plans that are part of the Hemel Garden Communities project, a masterplan that will deliver more than 11,000 new homes and 10,000 new jobs by 2050.

During his experience at Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, Antonio had the opportunity to work for clients such as GPE, Helical, Ashby Capital, CLI Dartriver, the Berkeley Group and Barking Riverside Limited.He worked on a variety of projects ranging from residential to office, retail and hospitality, arts and culture to public realm, and mixed-use to masterplanning. Some notable works include the Illuminated River project, a unique artwork lighting scheme along the River Thames. He also worked on the preparation of the design codes for the Barking Riverside District Centre, which includes 1,800 residential units within a vibrant new neighbourhood. Antonio was also responsible for the development of various design packages of the JJ Mack Building, an award-winning 10-storey office building in Farringdon.Antonio also worked on Folgate Building, a refurbishment and significant extension of an uncharismatic 1980s office building where he led the coordination between architecture, structure and MEP. The project achieves high sustainable standards, retaining 88% of the existing structure, along with its embodied carbon allowing the scheme to be well within RIBA 2030 and LETI 2030 targets.Another significant scheme that Antonio helped to deliver is the Hanover Square Masterplan, a mixed-use scheme that comprises high-quality offices, retail, apartments, a Grade II* Listed building renovation and a new public courtyard. This project was a great opportunity to work on a very complex regeneration scheme, which included the integration of a new Crossrail station with new and existing buildings within a very constrained site located in the Mayfair Conservation Area.

While working at ZEF Concepts, Antonio was involved in a wide range of projects including hospitals, churches and residential buildings, predominantly located in the Middle-East and Africa. He worked on the concept and developed design of two hospitals in Iraq, developed in accordance with the UK Building Regulations and Health Building Notes. Antonio worked closely with the in-house health planning specialist and he was responsible for the design coordination with all the external consultants.Antonio also had the opportunity to work on the Yenagoa Masterplan, a mixed-use scheme integrating nature and sustainable living in a small community in Yenagoa Bayelsa State, Nigeria.
