    My research focused on advancing virology, particularly simian immunodeficiency virus (SIV) and its parallels to HIV. I contributed to projects aimed at understanding viral reservoirs in non-human primates treated with antiretroviral therapy (ART) and explored strategies to eliminate these reservoirs, a significant challenge in curing HIV.One key area of my work was the "Shock and Kill" strategy, where latency reversal agents (LRAs) were used to reactivate and eradicate latent viral reservoirs. I led the design and execution of experimental protocols, managed viral vector work, and oversaw the administration of treatments to non-human primates. I performed detailed analyses of tissue and organ samples using techniques like PCR, Q-RT-PCR, and flow cytometry to assess viral load and immune responses.In another project, I applied CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing technology delivered through adenoviral vectors to target and remove SIV proviruses from infected central nervous system (CNS) cells. This involved planning gene-editing strategies, collaborating with other research teams, and handling CNS tissue samples with precision.Beyond the lab, I was responsible for data analysis and interpretation, contributing to high-quality reports and scientific publications.
