Dr. Gómez-Martín completed an internship in forensic genetics at the Genetic Identification Lab in the University of Granada and continued his training in toxicogenomics and pesticides as a PhD Student in the Dpt. of Legal Medicine and Toxicology at the same university. He also trained in measuring DNA adducts at the University of Manchester (UK) for four months; and in pharmacogenomics in a collaboration with San Cecilio University Hospital. He also trained in private genetics companies such as Savia Biotech and Lorgen, thanks to the Fellowships for Young Entrepreneurs and Specialist Technician granted by the Government of Andalusia and the Spanish Government respectively. In 2016, he got the Mention of Research granted by the Government of Andalusia. Gómez-Martín has worked as an Assistant Professor of Toxicology in the Medicine, Pharmacy and Environmental Sciences degrees at the University of Granada; and in the Human Genetics and Genomic Medicine Master's degree. He has collaborated with innovation projects related to toxicology and genetics; and the GrinUGR project with a strong focus on virtual teaching and citizen science. He worked in the Genomics Unit at GENYO with the Technical Support of Infrastructure grant, by the Spanish Government, and R&D managers at NIMGenetics . Currently he is postdoctoral researcher at Escuela Andaluza de Salud Pública.Specialties: My fields of expertise are population genetics, toxicogenomics and pesticides, pharmacogenomics, environmental genetics in prostate cancer, environmental epigenetics in human placenta, and citizen science.Large experience: I have a wide experience in publics and privates genomics companies (Savia Biotech, LORGEN, GENYO and NIMGenetics), where I have worked with equipment such as ABI 3130xl Genetic Analyzers, qPCR and digital PCR platforms (Thermo Fisher), Automated Liquid Handler (Tecan), iScan (Genotyping, Epigenetics, Gene expression), MiniSeq, NextSeq y NovaSeq (Illumina). I also have experience with Next-Generation Sequencing tools (whole genome, exome, targeted gene panels, RNAseq, methylation and small RNAs).
