Electrical Engineer, passionate about new technologies, specially IoT.With my expertise in embedded systems software development for the internet of things (IoT), I have contributed positively to many projects, commonly oriented on improving people’s live and businesses, by making these processes easier with the so-called automation. In the last few years, I have been growing in the renewable energy field (solar systems), and I feel more than happy to be part of the change of a greener and more sustainable planet.Passion has been the core of my work. Able to build simple and complex Cyber-physical systems from just an idea and bring it to reality. Able to develop the initial idea, turn it into requirements, and finally organize it into achievable goals/objectives. Able to automate hardware and connect (through firmware/software) to human readable interfaces like HMI or remote web/mobile applications, and communicate with the different stakeholders, and team partners to make these projects possible. Some of the hardware experiences: Embedded Linux Boards and industrial computers (IPC), Espressif (ESP), Arduino, Particle IO, Atmel, and Microchip. Programming languages: Python, C and C++.

Principal Software ArchitectAriya Finergy Holdings Limited Apr 2019 - PresentNairobi, KenyaAt Ariya, I have been working remotely as leader of the embedded software development and IoT area of multiple big and futuristic applications that the company is funding, using renewable energy. So far I have been developing software, seeking and supporting the team for optimal solutions based on the different project's requirements, and software architecture design. These apps are known as Sitka, Acacia and Baobab. These are smart EMS apps made for Linux based Single Board Computers (SBC) to be able to control and monitor electrical devices such as energy meters, multiple sensors, and multiple converters such as AC/DC, DC/AC, and DC/DC which handles solar (PV) energy, battery (BMS) energy, utility energy and Genset energy. These components are distributed and interconnected based on the hardware architecture and the app to be used for our different clients and users. For each component type, the EMS application is fully compatible with multiple brands/manufacturers which are constantly expanded as required, through our SDK.These devices support communication to AWS cloud, to be able report important system information and listen to cloud request for remote control and maintainability of the product (including OTA updates). I have been architecting and developing the software application and the SDK in Python language from scratch, with my own design (multi-threaded object-oriented programming model). These apps have already been deployed successfully and are constantly improved, following the Software Development Life Cycle. -
Embedded Software EngineerPhenologic Feb 2021 - Jul 2021Michigan, United StatesI contributed to this project by developing and supporting the PhenoLogic Poseidon device: A smart IoT fertigation system built using modern technologies, designed to prepare and deliver user-defined fertilizer recipes across any number of feeding zones. This device synchronize lighting and fertigation, controlled through a centralized brain. I supported this small team of developers (also co-founders), refactoring an existing IoT firmware application built with Particle IO technology with C/C++ languages, to improve the existing functionality and expand beyond, while thinking about scalability and responsiveness of the app. This device was able to execute the main fertigation scheduled processes and provide a final output report of the results to the cloud so the end user could visualize it further. -
Embedded Software DeveloperPlanet Earth Society Jun 2020 - Dec 2020Los Altos, California, United StatesI contributed to the company on an ongoing project actually called The Dew: A futuristic and extremely secure IoT platform, and a holistic privacy oriented platform, which can be used by IoT developers and (in the future) by common people to host smart and secured peer-to-peer networks across neighborhoods without depending on untrusted cloud platforms and the general internet infrastructure. To make this possible, it offers a new actor-model based programming language called Hacktorscript to write any kind of (secured) IoT applications from scratch. I supported this project with Blaine Garst (founder) by writing C language code for new features and bug fixes required mainly using the ESP32 microcontroller (one of the supported platform devices), and doing sample codes with Hacktor language to test these features. Also developed some useful bash script tools for general use in the platform.

Embedded Software EngineerJan-Way Nov 2019 - Aug 2020Texas, United StatesI contributed to the company, developing the Jan-Way Mop System (MS-100): This IoT device recycles the water used by mops several times, using controlled filters, a pump and valves, so is output of the product mechanism is to serve clean and ready to use water to the Janitor who is using the device, helping to save lots of water resources and costs. This also device reports the data to a custom API developed by a web app engineer, and the data is displayed to the end user app.I supported the team by building the first version of the firmware application from scratch (Up to Alpha version), with all the product requirements, from the sensors and actuators monitoring and automation, to the IoT functionality by using WiFi + HTTPS protocol to send and receive requests between devices and server, sharing important system data such as the number of flushes events, battery level etc… -
Co-FounderAiotik Apr 2017 - May 2019Zulia Area, VenezuelaAs co-founder of AIOTIK, I worked to lead the company path (ideas and its execution) and technically worked with a hired team of software and hardware developers to meet all our clients requirements, our main business was based on an Freelance agency, where I found potentials clients, and organized tasks for the team for futher execution (I lead the team, plus I supported them on technical tasks and issues). We grew up over the 2 years until the company could not continue its operations. -
Embedded System EngineerUs Carburetion Inc Dec 2017 - Apr 2019Summersville, West Virginia, United StatesMy job as a freelancer was about creating an Alpha version of a product called Bowl Dog: An IoT device to monitor failures on toilets, and report these alarms and general device status over the internet to an external server, so the end user visualizes it on the web application. I worked on the firmware and hardware development of the product from zero. The Alpha version was tested and finished successfully.I contributed and worked side to side with an app developer to create all the software architecture from scratch. I was in charge of the firmware development, designing whole functionality of the product; We used a couple of microcontrollers, one to handle the main sensors logic, events, data handling, and the other one as an external WiFi module to communicate (Transmit and receive data) to a custom API built by the software app engineer. We used HTTPS protocol as the main communication protocol. -
Firmware DeveloperLoop Insights Aug 2018 - Dec 2018Vancouver, British Columbia, CanadaWorked in a project called Fobi: A smart IoT device that hacks the information from a POS machine to retrieve the receipts data, and send this data to the cloud, to do insights about the sales, for example: restaurants, bars, etc... To improve the sales and cashflow for the company who acquires the product. This product uses AWS cloud to send and receive data from, for multiple other purposes. I contributed to this project, in several features and improvements such as the OTA architecture of the device, and remote commands development from cloud to device, that made the device to process cloud request, execute it and reply back to the cloud. All of this using MQTT protocol with pub/sub topics. -
InternCobeca Occidente May 2015 - Jul 2015Zulia, MaracaiboAs an intern, i tested my knowledge doing my job in a clean and professional way. I showed up doing a prototype to control 17 air conditioner between 5 and 20 tons of capacity, using a modular PLC Allen Bradley, and SCADA system to monitor from a central computer. Because of perseverance and will, i increased my expertise programming PLC and HMI interfaces. All prototype worked out, and it was also very organized and understandable for users. This prototype got success results desired and good reviews from the Sub-Manager.
