This position has department specific responsibility.Installs, configures, tests, and monitors stand-alone and networked computer systems, associated peripheral devices and data communication systems; assists with the development of procedures; assists users with procedures, configuration, and use of desktop and laptop computers, printers, telephones, and related peripheral devices; develops hardware and software requirements based on user needs assessment; initiates acquisition procedures; performs fault detection and fault isolation tests; monitors systems to ensure optimum use and performance; notifies users of system problems, initiates corrective action, and performs follow up to ensure proper resolution; sets up and tests computer configurations, operating systems, and system software upgrades; modifies system configurations based on user requirements; analyzes and resolves performance problems involving the operating system and associated hardware; works with vendors, contractors, and technical support staff to ensure solutions to complex integrated system problems; schedules technical support staff for efficient performance of work orders and project tasks; assists management in determination of budget needs and project completion schedules; LAN Technician works primarily with local area network equipment, software and peripherals.

Utilize various computer operating systems and software applications in a multi-layered client server environment, troubleshoot, research, and resolve technical issues involving hardware and software; basic knowledge of network infrastructure and troubleshooting; peripherals; document imaging; telephony; and audio/visual equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures and IT Best Practices. Collaborate with colleagues and contacts vendor technical support as necessary.Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and ERP systems. Recommend and/or perform upgrades on systems to ensure longetivy; work with procurement staff to acquire hardware, software, and peripherals; assesses users' functional needs to determine appropriate technology solutions.Provide technical and audio/visual support to internal and external clients for special events, conferences, meetings, and other functions.Manage time and resource to address completing priorities. Complete work-order documentation in a timely manner and in accordance with established procedures. Record solutions and processes; posts them in the departmental knowledge base according to established procedures.Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Windows and Apple base hardware, software, and network technology.Perform other duties as assigned to meet or exceed department and College goals and objectives.

Monitored the lab and it's activities. Assisted students and people from the community with MS Office and other applications to complete their desired work. Maintained the computer lab clean, kept the printers stocked and changed toners when needed. In charge of opening the computer lab in the morning and closing the lab in the weekends. Upgraded machines when required.
