    I was hired by 24 Ore Group, to relaunch and manage the Culture Business Area, as General Manager and CEO of 24 Ore Cultura and Alinari 24 Ore (totaling 90 employees, 10 managers directly reporting to me). We particularly boosted the development of the business in Arts Exhibitions, Image Libraries, Cross-media Publishing and innovative projects aimed at exploiting our Cultural Heritage. Together with a radical reorganization and the development of synergies with the rest of the Group, these initiatives drew the Area from 3 millions € losses in 2010 to break even in one year time, by increasing revenues and marginality and restructuring the costs structure. We have also repositioned the Group in the cultural market, by launching a strong campaign of opinion, aimed at promoting the cultural industry as a strategic asset of a new development model for Italy. This has increased the role of the cultural business, as a competitive advantage, Group wise.Best achievements. Exhibitions: Salvador Dali (330k visitors, 6 millions users on the website), Artemisia Gentileschi (180k visitors, cross media extensions with a docu-fiction and a top ranked IPad app), Pixar (250k visitors), Klimt (180k visitors), Mirò (120k visitors). Relevant cross media applications: Giotto's Cappella degli Scrovegni online; Masters of Design (consumer and de luxe books, the first mobile app on the topic, on site exhibitions).

    As General Manager, reporting to Chairman and CEO, I used to manage synergies among all Business Areas of De Agostini Publishing, also by encompassing other branches of the international conglomerate, such as Zodiak (TV and cross-media production) and Lottomatica G-Tech (games and lotteries). I coordinated the Central Editorial Committee, involving top management and BU Directors, to strategize on guidelines and cross over projects. 
With a team of 80 employees and 6 managers, we also created and exploited, as a profit center, a suite of libraries, platforms and services, enabling the publishing business to move up from the traditional to the digital model and exploit Group's assets upon a B2B model and on digital platforms, such as mobile: Product Library, Picture Library, Online Cooperation System, Web Services, Prepress and Distance Learning. Among the most relevant projects I headed, the digitization and exploitation of the Leonardo da Vinci's Atlantic Codex; the photo shooting campaign and subsequent exploitation of 100 unknown tombs in the Royal and Nobles Valleys, Luxor, Egypt (in tight cooperation with the Supreme Council of Antiquities); the most comprehensive documentation about UNESCO World Heritage's sites around the world. I used to travel a lot and work in constant cooperation with all country units (France and Suisse, UK, Spain and Latin America, Greece and Balkans, Germany and Central Europe, Nordics, Tokyo and Far East, Russia and former URSS countries), also assessing and incubating business applications in new markets (i.e. India).
