The DMV Databricks Community Group was created Feb-8-2024 with the following vision:1. Establish A Common Meeting PlaceThe DMV Area is home to the nation's capitol, the heart of Public Sector/Government, and boasts numerous headquarter locations for large companies, organizations, and nonprofits — spanning across industries.The DMV Databricks Community Group provides a platform & digital space to bring together the groups mentioned above; existing and prospective Databricks users; and the broader tech community — to exchange ideas, events, news, and collaboration opportunities — relevant to the Databricks ecosystem and beyond.2. Establish Industry Sub GroupsThe DMV Databricks Community groups seeks to enable the formation of industry-specific subgroups — where each subgroup has an assigned "Industry Captain" who monitors the Databricks Community Forum, driving collaboration for their respective area.If you are interested in becoming an Industry Captain or nominating someone you know — please reach out to Anton Lagergren.3. Enable In-Person Meet-UpsThe DMV Databricks Community Group seeks to facilitate in person events & meet ups in collaboration with Higher Education, Professional Organizations / Non-Profits, Private/Public Sector, Local Community Development Advocacy groups, Industry Leaders, and Individuals.— Organizational Chart —1. Group owners maintain the community platform, recruit industry captains and standard members, promote awareness, drive collaboration, and coordinate / facilitate events.2. Industry Captains are leaders / specialists in their respective domains (Health Care & Life Sciences / Gov & Public Sector / Finance / Gaming / Manufacturing / etc. These individuals take active responsibility for driving engagement in areas specific to their interests and expertise.3. All members by default are Standard Group Members.
