Currently, I work at the Investment division of the Bulgarian Central Bank. I am a member of a small team which oversees the management of the foreign exchange reserves held by the Central Bank. My responsibilities include the management of a portfolio totalling 8Bn EUR that consists of investments in high grade fixed income securities belonging to governments, sub-governments, supranational institutions, agencies and covered bonds.I also manage the Bank’s FX and cash liquidity in different currencies, as well as the Bank’s Gold and Money Market portfolios.

I interned with the securities trading group of a major European bank. I analysed existing processes for optimization potential and helped with automation of these processes using VBA scripts. I took part in the selection of a new dealer for the listed derivatives business.I completed development of an Excel tool for the ETF Sales Team, which compared the trading and holding costs of ETFs vs. Futures on stock indexes.

I worked with the Sales department. My main responsibility was working on a project that introduced Salesforce as a single sales system across all branches of the company. I helped the sales teams in Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands to transfer the company’s data from the old sales systems to Salesforce and developed new Salesforce reports that were used by management and other divisions within the company.

I performed operations of administrative and organisational nature. I mainly supported the project management team on climbing wall installation projects in different countries. I organized trips and accommodation for traveling employees. I also researched and made sure local quality and regulatory standards were met.

The team I was part of worked closely with new customers and tried to assess their needs, in order to offer the most suitable bank products and services. That included contacting potential clients, management of new and existing contracts with clients, offering investment opportunities to clients (e.g. participation in IPOs), and any other support that clients needed. While on the team, we reached out to new markets and developed the company’s client base in new countries, primarily in Africa and Southeast Asia.
