I became an architect and urban planner to help improve living conditions in urban environments, in particular for those who need it the most. That deep desire for matching human needs and aspirations with the built environment has driven me ever since. As both private consultant, public servant, development professional and volunteer I have built a wide set of competences, including:- Urban analysis and design- Crime-preventing urban design- Pro-poor urban development in international contexts - International development work and programme management- Co-creation processes regarding the built environment- Monitoring and evaluation- Volunteer management- Budget management- LecturingI believe in the close connection between our physical environment and the quality of our lives, and am passionate about the creation of tangible, positive urban change. I love to participate in co-creation processes with stakeholders from all walks of life in the pursuit of nurturing and dignified urban environments for all, regardless of income and ethnicity.Through jobs and travels worldwide I have often witnessed the extreme poverty and loss of human dignity that is a consequence of miserable living conditions in the slums and cities of the developing world. That is why I have committed a large amount of my professional life to build and sustain Architects Without Borders in Denmark, as a platform where likeminded professionals can engage in the fight for development and urban equality.
