Het klinkt misschien wat oubollig, maar het motiveert enorm als je weet waar je het voor doet!Ik werk als Crisis Coordinator voor de Dutch Relief Alliance namens stichting Dorcas. De Dutch Relief Alliance ondersteunt voor mensen in nood in landen met acute of langdurige crises, zoals Afghanistan, Yemen en Zuid-Soedan. Met mijn collega’s ondersteun ik de projecten van de Dutch Relief Alliance die in partnerschap met het Nederlandse ministerie van Buitenlandse Zaken worden uitgevoerd door DRA partners en lokale partijen. Zie voor meer informatie https://dutchrelief.org/. Ik ben breed geïnteresseerd in alles wat maatschappelijk en politiek relevant is. Ik lever graag kwaliteit. Mijn natuurlijke habitat is een plek waar ik ergens grondig in kan duiken, om dit tot de kern te reduceren en met vervolgstappen te komen. Ik draag graag bij aan goede samenwerking tussen partijen en houd daarbij het doel voor ogen. Hoewel de noodhulpsector hectisch is, is er toch ook geregeld vrije tijd. Die breng ik door met familie en vrienden, één van mijn favoriete sporten, een creatief project, vrijwilligerswerk of een goed boek. Humanitarian Aid Team LeadDorcas Sep 2021 - Sep 2023In this role I engaged in the following main activities:- Team coordination, a team of 8 humanitarian experts providing remote and/or onsite assistance to the Dorcas Country Offices- Coordination of the Dorcas and Christelijk Noodhulpcluster response to the Ukraine crisis (24 February 2022, onwards)- Coordination of the Dorcas response to the Syria earthquake crisis (6 February 2023). I participated as Response Taskforce member in the initial stages of the Dutch Relief Alliance Syria Earthquake Joint Response. -
Humanitarian Aid CoordinatorDorcas Jul 2018 - Sep 2021NetherlandsIn this role I engaged in the following main activities:- Carry out an organizational assessment against the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS). The assignment included carrying out document reviews, interviews and focus group discussions in The Netherlands, Lebanon, Syria and Ethiopia and formulation of an improvement plan. The assessment was recognized by the CHS Alliance.- Advise and coordinate innovation project "121" within Dorcas. 121 is all about digitalizing humanitarian cash and voucher assistance. The project was carried out in a.o. Lebanon, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Dutch Relief Alliance and in collaboration with a.o. The Netherlands Red Cross/510, Help-a-Child, ZOA, Tearfund, Cordaid.- Participate and contribute in various working groups and taskforces of the Dutch Relief Alliance, a Dutch network of NGOs that provide humanitarian aid globally with the support of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I contributed to the formulation of the DRA's Integrity Guidance Note (Integrity Taskforce). I helped organise learning events and the learning days (Criteria Working Group). I participated as Lead in the initial stages of the Lebanon Joint Response.

I researched the state-of-the-debate about the growing role of drones in contemporary warfare, for the host of a CICAM conference on this issue. The conference was attended by media, politicians (amongst which Hans Hillen, former MOD), academics (dealing with law, technology, ethics and conflict), and military. A similar state-of-the-debate was done with regard to land grabbing issues in South Sudan.
