Stichting Oebe is een woongemeenschap in de wijk Kanaleneiland in Utrecht, die door samen leven de wijk een beetje mooier wil maken. Als bestuurslid en penningmeester ben ik verantwoordelijk voor de financiën en contracten.

In this role I engaged in the following main activities:- Team coordination, a team of 8 humanitarian experts providing remote and/or onsite assistance to the Dorcas Country Offices- Coordination of the Dorcas and Christelijk Noodhulpcluster response to the Ukraine crisis (24 February 2022, onwards)- Coordination of the Dorcas response to the Syria earthquake crisis (6 February 2023). I participated as Response Taskforce member in the initial stages of the Dutch Relief Alliance Syria Earthquake Joint Response.

In this role I engaged in the following main activities:- Carry out an organizational assessment against the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS). The assignment included carrying out document reviews, interviews and focus group discussions in The Netherlands, Lebanon, Syria and Ethiopia and formulation of an improvement plan. The assessment was recognized by the CHS Alliance.- Advise and coordinate innovation project "121" within Dorcas. 121 is all about digitalizing humanitarian cash and voucher assistance. The project was carried out in a.o. Lebanon, funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Dutch Relief Alliance and in collaboration with a.o. The Netherlands Red Cross/510, Help-a-Child, ZOA, Tearfund, Cordaid.- Participate and contribute in various working groups and taskforces of the Dutch Relief Alliance, a Dutch network of NGOs that provide humanitarian aid globally with the support of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I contributed to the formulation of the DRA's Integrity Guidance Note (Integrity Taskforce). I helped organise learning events and the learning days (Criteria Working Group). I participated as Lead in the initial stages of the Lebanon Joint Response.

Andijk; Zaporizja, Ukraine.

In this role I engaged in the following main activities:- Coordination of several phases of the Dutch Relief Alliance Ukraine Joint Response consortium project in Eastern Ukraine.- Coordination of Dorcas humanitarian projects in Eastern Ukraine, from assessment and acquisition untill evaluation.

In this role I carried out the field assessments against the Core Humanitarian Standard for a Dutch International NGO. This comprised of holding key informant interviews and focus group discussions with humanitarian aid workers, people affected by crises and government stakeholders in Somaliland and Colombia.

In this role I was responsible for the decision-making on insurance claims and a diversity of administrative and financial tasks, telephone contact with external relations and managing information.

Nijmegen En Omgeving, Nederland

in this role I engaged in the following main activities:- Organizing of the yearly excursion of the MA Human Geography, Conflicts, Territories and Identities. In this capacity I have been responsible for planning budgets, obtaining funds, and organise the academic excursion of thirty people to gain an understanding of the dynamics of conflict in N-Ireland, in the past as well as currently. - Giving feedback and making proposals to improve articles for scientific journals on peace-building issues. Amongst others on the problem of flows of aid money to Afghanistan, the legacy of historical institutions in 'new state' South Sudan and the cooperation between international NGOs and local population in forest preservation in Cambodia.- Other research activities. I researched the state-of-the-debate about the growing role of drones in contemporary warfare, for the host of a CICAM conference on this issue. The conference was attended by media, politicians (amongst which Hans Hillen, former MOD), academics (dealing with law, technology, ethics and conflict), and military. A similar state-of-the-debate was done with regard to land grabbing issues in South Sudan.
