As Assistant Manager of a contract depo, I am able to manage my own time successfully and be responsible for making sure that the branch runs smoothly, this includes allocating various duties fairly and professionally to members of staff. Being available out of hours for staff to notify when sick then making the necessary arrangements to ensure the branch runs at 100% capacity. I take a lead role in getting new clients into the business while ensuring existing customers are looked after giving us their repeat business. I organise customer incentive short breaks on behalf of the company, to encourage customers to spend more each year. I also organise customer entertainment evenings, as a thank you, for their loyalty and spending. I liaise with the Reps from our suppliers, who cover the costs of these evenings to promote their business ranges.I put together promotions and sales offer campaigns, which include breakfast mornings, free gifts and lunches, all at our supplier’s cost. This encourages both repeat and new business.Part of my current role is monitoring the well-being of the branch staff, including appraisals, holiday/sickness cover and ensuring staff can voice any concerns, personal issues or work based enquires in a professional reassuring manor. Being available to step in if disagreements between staff and stop any problems at source. Due to the Manager being away from branch, due to regular meetings, I pick up all management responsibilities for the building, having to make reactive decisions so the branch continues to run proactively.
