The quality standards to implement include:1. IPTC metadata compliance2. Colour management3. File naming conventions4. Captured in line with National Preservation Office Standards- Provide mentoring on the above to team members as required.- Administer Portfolio and provide workflow solution for consistent upload without disruption to production:1. To implement Imaging Services catalogue structure.2. To monitor server capacity through Portfolio reporting.3. Provide Quality Control support in relation to keywords, captions and re- sizing as required.- Produce images in response to customer requests, focusing on digital services according to agreed productivity, service delivery targets and quality standards, including:- Photograph items from any of the BL collections - Photograph material selected by Collections & Preservation and provide surrogate copies as part of the library's preservation program.- Provide a creative and bespoke photographic service for heritage objects.

Key areas of responsibility:-Maintain a regular flow of work to the area in order of priority to ensure -Service Level Agreements are met.-Prepare target sheets for customer orders on the PC-Ensure conservation volumes are order to amount of annual target for this programme. -Maintain weekly and monthly performance figures for each operator-Problem solve and communicate within other departments of Reprographics, plus areas of S&C, administration and MSG’s.-General basic maintenance of camera equipment-Stock control for the department Main tasks -Supervision of up to 26 staff developing individual staff skills such as correct camera voltage, reduction, handling of fragile material, film tests-To write Performance Management reports and agree achievable Forward Job Plans with the line manager and staff members. To assess these on a regular basis with both the staff member and management-To monitor performance of the staff on a weekly basis and alert the line manager of any cause for concern regarding performance. -To record staff on leave or sick and notify management-First line welfare to resolve minor problems related to staff needs alerting the manager to concerns or possible difficulties-To decision make regarding the release of staff to other areas of Reprographics when pressure of work requires extra team membersTo process all paperwork through the camera room ensuring it is passed on to the relevant department.
