Selected to participate in the U.S department of State's 2022-2023 Community College Initiative (CCI) Program at Kirkwood Community College. The CCI Program provides participants with a one-year non-degree academic program at a U.S community college. The CCI program builds participant's technical skills in applied fields, enhances their leadership capabilities, and strengthens their English language proficiency. CCI candidates are nominated for participation by the Public Affairs Section of the U.S Embassy or the Fulbright Commission in eligible countries.During this program I:-Served local community through 75+ hours of volunteer work in such organizations as Trees Forever, Camp Courageous, and Central Furniture Rescue-Developed my hospitality skills at The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, with clinical experience and formation in the areas of Housekeeping, Front Office, Revenue Management, and Food & Beverage.-Engaged and actively collaborated with the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA) -Enhanced intercultural competence and knowledge of American culture-Increased oral and written proficiency in the English language
