As an active member, I have been involved in marketing of EMB society to students. Additionally, I have represented the society in the 12th annual Association of Medical Engineers of Kenya (AMEK) conference.I had the opportunity to participate in 6 months mentorship program offered by EMB Society between June - December 2021.

As the founding secretary, I have been involved in planning the road map of CASS in Kenya and Africa. Kenyatta University Circuits and Systems Society is the pioneering Society in Africa. This gives us the responsibility to carry the vision for Africa, which together with my colleague volunteers are making every effort to make a difference!

As a student volunteer, I was part of the organizing committee of the second edition of Engineering Festival 2021. This is one of a kind event in the history of IEEE events in Kenya and beyond.

I am leading the Kenyatta University IEEE Student Branch to realize the mission of advancing humanity using technology by giving members a chance to organize and take part in professional development activities and events such as workshops, conferences, and mentorship programs.

I am responsible for supporting the global student mentorship program with virtual platform logistics, tracking, and monitoring of mentoring partners. Working together with volunteers in the IEEE EMBS Students Activities Committee (SAC).

Worked with my mentor, Bjørn-Jostein, towards submitting two algorithms to the George B. Moody PhysioNet Challenge 2022. We then documented our work, which we open-sourced, and published a conference paper and a blog.

- Developing a machine learning-based web application to enhance orthopedic recovery monitoring by accurately estimating joint flexion angles.- Designing Python-powered dashboards for effective visualization of orthopedic recovery data, focusing on joint flexion angles to aid clinical assessments.- Implementing robust data storage solutions using time.

After graduating as a cohort 6 mentee with the highest community engagement and also with an outstanding attendance, I come back in cohort 7 as a peer mentor. With this role, I have the opportunity to offer love, support and empathy to other humans.

- Optimized a speech recognition machine learning model for Swahili, enhancing its accuracy and making it publicly available on Hugging Face to promote open science and reproducibility.- Authored three detailed blog posts documenting the development process and disseminated the research methodology through an engaging hour-long presentation.

As the project manager, I am responsible for planning team meetings and facilitating effective communication with the goal of completing our project goal. I am also responsible for documentation of our work and keeping my team motivated to achieve our main project goals.

KamiLimu is a premier award 8 months mentorship program. I am excited to secure a place from a national pool of university students. As a mentee, I experience 5 layers of metorship in the five KamiLimu pillars. The pillars include professional development, personal development, ICT skills, Innovation and Scholarship writing & awareness.

As an opinion leader, I was responsible of marketing the Red Bull Basement competition in Kenyatta University. Additionally, I pitched my idea in the competition which gathered the 4th highest community shoutouts!
