Working with the exploration of, and development of innovative water saving ideas and solutions for the home:- These solutions are often collaboration projects with partners such as start-ups with some times complex agreements and team dynamics.- This role includes running multiple projects in parallel developing both in-house solutions and co-creating with partners.- The solutions we create are often challenging the norm, in particular with regards to compliance to standards (since they may not exist) and Water Regulations. This means many discussions with Test labs and Water authorities.- The development and launch of the water saving ÅBÄCKEN tap nozzle enabling up to 90% reduction of water use from your bathroom tap has been the most notable success so far.

- Leading the technical development of the global tap and shower range at IKEA's global product development centre in Sweden. The role was broad working with Designers, Product Developers, Sourcing Developers, Purchasing teams and suppliers to bring the products to market on time with all aspects of Ikea's Democratic design met - form, function, quality, sustainability and a low price.- During this time we achieved a step change in COPQ (taps) whilst introducing Showers to our product area.- We won several internal awards during this time including Democratic Design awards for the BOSJÖN kitchen tap and SALJEN bathroom tap. The SALJEN tap later won a Red Dot Design Award.

- This role evolved from Design Manager into Design Engineering Manager in 2008 as a greater control of the engineering and documentation of our products was required.- I managed a team of 6 Engineers working from concept through to production with various 3rd parties and manufacturers in Europe and the Far East.- This role included close liaison with the Product Management and Supply Chain teams ensuring the products are delivered to the brief and specification supplied on time.- I was also heavily involved in Intellectual Property ensuring our innovations and designs are protected as required.
