When I received the notification that the 'Creative Writers' group had no admin and was about to be deleted unless I took over, I leapt at the chance to test my social media expertise. At the time it had only 32 members, now there are currently 15,730 members and counting. This was largely achieved by creating a positive, helpful and supportive environment for writers, and engaging directly with the members.

After a brief internship at Don't Hate the Geek, I put the lessons I'd learned to good use and started my own blog. It's early days yet, but I'm rather enjoying myself. I'm working on a couple of stories that I hope will be published novels someday. In the meantime, I'm writing about my progress with the projects and my personal development. Needless to say, I may be using some of the tricks I learned from marketing also.

This is an ongoing interactive fantasy story I've been running in a Facebook group for my friends. Members that want to be a part of the story create a character. The story is updated every Sunday and 'players' comment in-character before the next update post. Some of the players have changed over the years, but it continues to be a lot of fun. It also allows me to practice writing in the fantasy genre, and gain new insights into character development.
