At IE, I help our leadership deliver impactful branding and strategic communications services through project coordination, ad placement and tracking, web development, social media management, copywriting, and translation.

Having been nominated for the MDY Fellowship for my efforts in Mental Health and Wellbeing, throughout the year I worked on a project titled GauchoGoals that advances the goals of Academic Initiatives and Student Affairs by positively impacting the student experience. GauchoGoals consists of a project site on GauchoSpace (the most used online student resource) which means to promote a culture of health, happiness, and success for all students at UCSB.

As a CNI Fellow, I undertook a project to further the goals of the Carbon Neutrality Initiative set forth by Janet Napolitano in 2013, which aims to make the UC system carbon neutral by 2025. My project consisted in a Climate Action Framework for UC Santa Barbara's Housing & Residential Services, outlining the necessary steps to bring their Scope 1 and 2 emissions down to zero by 2025.

As an intern for the Energy & Environment Manager, I held a variety of responsibilities. I input historical data on electricity, water, and natural gas usage into a database, and constructed reports off this data. I surveyed the Residence Halls to determine what improvements could be made in terms of recycling, composting, and energy efficiency. Lastly, I took on environmental awareness projects to be implemented throughout the school year.

I was elected to this position in my Residence Hall and used the opportunity to foster environmental awareness in my residential community through educational programming and outreach. During my time as EAC, I also established and oversaw the Environmental Ambassadors program.

I prospected new clients for the company. I was in charge of initial approach and negotiation. I also did routine follow-up after they entered our existing clientele pool to ensure they were satisfied with our services. Partnerships I secured generated thousands of dollars of revenue for the company.

I was responsible for the transition period as new clients entered our services. That entailed direct contact with their company’s owners and/or managers, scheduling and moderation of meetings, data collection and input into databases, the exposition of our services and benefits to the client and their employees, as well as customer service surveys.
