Digital Forensic Examiner
Current• I collect, preserve, extract, decrypt and interpret computer/phone based hardware/software in a forensically sound manner and in accordance with relevant legislation, policy, protocols and codes of practice, and within required timescales. • I interrogate data held on digital devices and all forms of storage media using a range of investigative techniques to ensure that all relevant evidence and intelligence is extracted. • I produce auditable evidence and exhibits in a legally admissible format, and deliver evidence orally at court in order to contribute to judicial processes.• I support Bedfordshire Police in achieving its objectives as required to support cyber dependant and enabled criminality and the examination of digital media to throughout the force. • I provide specialist advice and knowledge to colleagues, partners, other individuals and agencies to support organisational objectives and compliance with policy. • I maintain/update my technical knowledge and emerging digital devices to provide specialist advice and knowledge to colleagues, partners, other individuals and agencies to support organisational objectives and compliance with policy. • I Identify & implement the appropriate investigation strategy to be used by investigators in the Unit to best meet the customers’ needs against capacity. • I deliver lead technical examination function for complex and / or sensitive investigations using relevant legislation, policies, procedures, legal requirements and within required timescales.• I am responsible for ensuring equipment and software licences are current, and assist in the design and implementation of new systems and unit working practices to ensure delivery of unit aims, objectives and customer requirements • I ensure work is completed within ISO17025 and the Forensic Regulator Codes • I assist with the mentoring and development of new and existing colleagues as required
