Current• Responsible for all cloud infrastructure • Responsible for the CPL Learning IT Budget• Escalation point for the on-premise IT department in terms of technical support.• Overseeing the development and enhancement of systems and integrating new systems with those existing.• Working with staff to develop plans and strategies so client services can be enhanced, user effectiveness improved, and innovation encouraged.• Negotiating with suppliers of hardware and software to get the best deal, including external support, and being responsible for contracting consultants and making service agreements.• Playing a key role in the design/build of cloud-based infrastructure ensuring an appropriate approach to regulatory requirements, resilience/disaster recovery, cost management and vendor lock-in. Ensuring relevant documentation is maintained in respect of architecture, technology, and processes.• Ensuring proactive monitoring and response to issues identified within the infrastructure, following up on corrective actions identified in post-incident reviews.• Providing technical direction and advice, driving consensus across engineering teams around architecture/technology choices. • Agile working practices, Software Architecture, Development & Testing, Version control, CI/CD processes & tools & Pipelines • Significant experience of delivering and supporting highly available sites/services which operate 24x7 globally on cloud infrastructure. • Led multi-disciplined teams of 30+ and have a track record of building high performing teams with low attrition.• IT Service Management. • Cloud configuration, deployment, and administration. • Complete hardware configuration and set-up of parallel HPCC Systems Big Data Platform.
