I have more than 20 years hands-on experience with the whole innovation process from idea generation to evaluation, development, funding and finally commercialization of product ideas.I have acted as a founder and entrepreneur for most part of my professional career and carried out hundreds of intellectual property rights related assignments (e.g. IPR strategy, IPR valuation, IPR portfolio management, patentability-, freedom to operate- and IPR due diligence analysis) for independent inventors, CEO's of many growth companies and experts from a number of publicly traded companies.I know R&D funding mechanism by heart and been molecular biology research team leader in the first start-up company which spun-out from University of Helsinki. I have put in practice numerous IPR licensing and IPR sales agreement together with number of start-up agreements with contribution in-kind elements.I`m a co-Author of the book ‘From Innovation to Cash Flows - Value Creation by Structuring High Technology Alliances’ (2009) Wiley Finance and lectured on IPR matters in number occasions in Finland and abroad.
