  • Nokia Gear
    Project Manager, Hw
    Nokia Gear Apr 2008 - Nov 2011
This is most busy and most exciting time definitely. We made with a relatively small teams and with really tight schedules really nice products. When starting I was HW project manager on BT-headset BH-904. We really worked hard to get it out as we wanted. After that I was involved in several HSPA product programs we were able to make and deliver. This have been the best time for me professionally to see how ideas from paper starts to come true and going for production. Best time to learn on co-operation, team work and whole process of making products. Along this time I really started to see how mobile data starts to come everywhere. Also magic on code domain data running on top of physical signals made big impression for me to think possibilities on HSPA and beyond.
  • Nokia
    Specialist, Emc
    Nokia Jan 2007 - Mar 2008
This time I was developing modular testing methods for EMC testing. Motivation was to be able to pick up design failures in early stages of development without expensive laboratory investments. Main contributions were for spurious emissions, and radiated emissions. We made really nice achievements on product level EMC analysis work around this time. I was instructor for one Master's Thesis work during this time.Work was on radiated emissions from chargers.
  • Nokia Research Center
    Senior Research Engineer
Nokia Research Center Mar 2006 - Dec 2006
Working on Signal Integrity and near-field emission topics. We did pretty succesful work around near-field phenomena on various parts on phones.During this time mechanics on phones were pretty complex and work around connectors, and cables and various FPC technologies were important for optimising impedance matching and minimise cross-talks, and intereference, or jamming for surrounding signals.Durign this time we were pretty successfully combining numerical simulaiton methods, and near field measurements and near field calculations for optimised design , minimising cross-talk, and optimise grounding and other critical topics.
  • Nokia
    Research Engineer
    Nokia Nov 1999 - Feb 2006
As continuating from my Master's Thesis work I originally continued to develop our our 3D-FDTD electromagnetic simulation tool development. We were continuing to develope simulationg engine and paralaller I got some superiour support from my colleaque to develope 3D graphics support for our simulation machine to visualize 3D electromagnetic fields. This activity became obsolete when commercial simulation tools became so much better and we started to get our results faster using them. So for me this left as a great journey on programming with C, and C++ with a good idea how to organise a object oriented structure for program.During this time we started some near-field measurement activities for measuring components emissions for surrounding electronics. Also we made pretty findings and corrections for good EMI design principles.
  • Nokia
    Master'S Thesis Worker
    Nokia Aug 1998 - Oct 1999
I made my Master's Thesis work on FDTD technique improvements. These techniques were helping for calculating electromagnetics problems either faster or with smaller memory or with better accuracy.
  • Nokia
    Trainee
    Nokia Jun 1997 - Jul 1998
I got wonderful chance to start as a trainee in Nokia Research Center. I joined for part of Aplac-team which was on that time still within Nokia Research Center. During my summer-job I got so interested on numerical electromagnetic modelling that I was shifting my major from RF engineering into electromagnetics. It took one year for additional studies but it really was worth doing.
