My official title is Head of Tax & Customs Systems Department, and my superpower is being able to see the big picture; an essential skill when it comes to contributing to the strategic goals, challenges, and priorities of the company. I have a management style that is very hands off, I’m highly people-oriented. The atmosphere I foster is to allow plenty of space for different options and opinions, and to develop effective and innovative new processes. The team is composed of self-motivated professionals, working in a respectful and friendly environment that thrives on innovation.Today my team is managing over 30 projects for the Estonian Tax & Customs Board. As we build solutions for the Estonian state I feel that my work has a larger impact for people in our country, and also for the wider world that can benefit from the improved efficiencies and security processes which we have developed.My team is dedicated to long-term partnerships with key customers. Our aim is to provide technically complex and large scale development projects. It is important to set clear goals. It’s also about looking for win-win solutions for my team and for our customers.I have been working in IT my entire career. I believe that building IT solutions is one of the most interesting and challenging jobs there is. It is fascinating to look deeply into the different workings of companies, and industries; and come up with exciting new ways to address the challenges of the complex software development projects we deliver. I’m a good listener and an empathetic manager, who is not trying to be the smartest person in the room; I prefer to find the smartest person in my team for each respective challenge. To unwind I enjoy jogging and practicing yoga. I also read a lot, and every now and then I like to watch mindless sitcoms for a good laugh.
