Valossa's aim is to teach AI to understand media like humans do. As part of Valossa's team, my job is to take the hard taught models and build applications and software that uses them. Including software with which it is possible to give feedback with your facial expression, an API for analyzing images, mobile applications that call the image API etc. The work requires coding skills in C++, Android Java, PHP and also machine learning.

My research was about digital image watermarking and especially reading the watermarks with a camera phone. The application areas for the research vary from security and copyright protection to value added services and mobile commerce. In my work I applied multiple research areas such as signal and image processing, computer vision and mobile applications. In order to achieve this, I used, for example, Qt, Java, Matlab and C++ on multiple platforms and operating systems (Symbian, Maemo, Meego, Android, Linux, Windows, MacOS). The results were collected as a PhD Thesis.

I worked several summers at MediaTeam as a Research Assistant between 2003-2005. In February 2006 a began writing my Master's thesis and I graduated in March 2007.

The job consisted of gathering materials from warehouse to the assembly lines.
