- Management of projects undertaken solely by themselves or by other staff including manpower moni-toring and control, client liaison and reporting to the Technical Manager/Assist. General Manager. Assisting Commercial Manager in the preparation of estimates and quotations.- Structural and Naval Architectural Design and Analysis within the technical competence of the engineer in the following areas:• Analysis of existing structures to assess stress levels under specific loading conditions.• Design and analysis of Sea Fastenings for loads to be transported.• Design and analysis rigging systems and plan heavy lifting sequence.• Design and analysis lifting lugs and lifting frames for specific heavy lifts.• Prepare plans for skidding loads on to barges and undertake the necessary analysis.• Prepare stowage plans for sea transportation of loads and assess both global and local strength of the barge/vessel.• Prepare proposals and reports for clients, class society and warranty surveyor approval.- Preparation of Marine and Heavy Transportation Lift proposals within the technical competence of the engineer in the following areas:• Selection of suitable marine equipment for lifting and transportation projects.• Design and Engineering for the supporting structure and coordination with shipyard to ensure proper fabrication.• Prepare lifting proposals and operations procedures based upon available cranes and lifting equipments.• Prepare stowage plans for sea transportation of loads and assess longitudinal strength and stability aspects of the transportation.• Prepare proposals and reports for clients, class society and warranty surveyor approval.- Undertake on site inspections and oversees lifting and transportation work on behalf of the Company and Clients within the capability of the engineer.- Other ad-hoc tasks within the engineer’s capability.- Help setup Enterprise resource planning systems and general management infrastructure.

I work as project manager for Diving/ROV support vessel, cement carrier, floating drydock and container vessel and handle General Arrangement and Technical Specifications for Tankers, Tugs, Geotech survey vessel. My duties include managing project life cycle, liaise with client, check drawings as per client requirements and class standards and get them class approved.I lead the hydrodynamics team and developed the Motion Analysis, Dynamic Positioning and Mooring Analysis software for in-house use. Almost everyday I do Resistance, Powering, Propeller design and Bollard Pull Prediction using NavCAD for all kinds of vessels.As an expert user of SESAM and STAAD Pro, I perform DSA(Direct Strength Analysis), Vibration Analysis, and Local strength analysis. I am involved in the basic structural design including midship section scantlings, Living Quarter structural design, and equipment foundation analysis and calculations.

I was part of the Global Analysis team at the Deepwater Technology Group. I have worked on design and finished Dynamic Load analysis of a drillship using ABS DLA/SFA working jointly with ABS Singapore Offshore Technology Center. Also, finished the benchmarking for the same using the DNV SESAM Suite. My primary focus is the Global Finite Element analysis and structural design and optimization of Drillships and Semi-submersibles.

I performed the global analysis of drillship under the guidance of Dr. Jer Fang Wu at ABS Singapore Offshore Technology Center. The analysis was done using the ABS Dynamic Load Analysis and Spectral Fatigue Approach at the ABS SOTC using their state of the art software ABS DLA/SFA which is based on well known ABS Safehull. MARIN Precal was used to predict motions and Wave loads on the drillship. The drillship was tested for bending, shear, accelerations and torsion at different locations. In total four loading conditions were analyzed using full scale mass models built in Patran-Pre(SESAM) and solved using Nastran. Fatigue critical locations like moonpool corner, derrick foundations foot, crane pedestal were analyzed using full spectral fatigue analysis using Wave scatter date for offshore Brazil and GOM.

Single handedly manged to complete a full algorithm for design and analysis of Mooring and Riser systems for Ships and Offshore vessels.This will be the base of the software IRS is going to build for design and analysis of Mooring systems. The algorithm is APIR2Sk and DNV PosMoor Compliant.

As an intern in the emerging technology center there were lot of opportunities to learn different things. I did complete Trim and Stability Analysis of a Chemical Tanker. Along with that i helped in various structural design projects ranging from Superstructure design to Antennae Foundation design and Modeling it in Ansys Workbench. It was a good learning experience working under their guidance.I was also member, for some time, of the team working on a Loading Calculator software.
