I am a finance professional with over 31 years’ multi-disciplinary experience in the Corporate, Not-for-Profit and Government sectors in the global South Region.I have significant exposure in areas such as Finance, Organizational management, Corporate Compliance and Governance (board-level), Strategic and Program Oversight, Stakeholders management, etc. I have a good understanding of the corporate sector dynamics and its associated cultural, socio-political aspects, including applicable legal provisions especially w.r.t. CSR laws and related partnership activities. I have exposure of working with culturally-diverse, geographically-dispersed teams.I have been keenly interested in utilizing my skills in a socially relevant initiative and hence, for the past 25+ years, I have been engaged with social organizations operating in areas such as Employment Generation, Health, Financial Inclusion, Governance, Education, etc. For such organizations, operating at the international and national levels, I have undertaken roles involving Program Planning, Fundraising Strategies, Partnerships with Businesses and Government, Mentoring Entrepreneurs, Grant Management, Budgeting, Compliance, Administration, etc.I served at the Government of India’s flagship e-governance project- AADHAAR (2013-17) as a domain specialist rendering professional support in the financial, contract management domains. The assignment has led to a deeper understanding of the managerial challenges in the execution of such large-scale, “mission-mode” government-funded programs and hence of the strategies for addressing them for achieving the program objectives successfully.2018-2022, I was working with the SAARC Development Fund- an umbrella, inter-governmental, regional financial institution established by the Eight SAARC Nations where I was the Officer-In-Charge of the SDF & also the Director for its approx. 100 projects in areas such as Rural Enterprises, Climate-Smart Agriculture, WASH, Education, Livelihood, Health, etc. with a committed grants portfolio of over USD 91 mn. Other responsibilities included overall corporate management, treasury (USD 500 mn.), stakeholder interface, high-level representation at government and other forums; Board related tasks and coordination with the Member States, etc. including with Heads of States, Ministers, senior bureaucracy, UN, international development and multilateral agencies, civil society and private sector organizations.
