The projectinvolved various third party modules like smb protocol(samba) for network authentication.I had a contribution of significant patch to the final release making use of shell scripts. worked on scripts for dns and ddns update daemons worked on issues like log rotation, dns and ddns update daemons, provided fix for core file generation issues in samba protocol crash and exported the same as a patch for compilation.I had a major contribution in developing a crutial network tool for the client based on tcpdump. It required shell scripting and basics of file system. Developed and added runtime generated expressions using conditions for tcpdump tool in shell script to read from user added values in configuration files, enabling to capture the communication between specific hosts and ports. Worked on USB triggered scripts. Worked on IPv4, IPv6 and MAC address validations using regular expressions. learnt propper documentation process like analysis documents, CDD(code design document), code review, walk through report, unit testing documents, review reports check -in lists etc.
