Google Summer of Code 2020 Participant for FreeType Organization.Build a new signed distance field(SDF) rasterizer for the FreeType library. The rasterizer was built completely in C and use fixed point notation for decimal numbers which is one the requirement for the FreeType library.The goal of the rasterizer is to generate signed distance fields for font glyphs. Once generated the SDF can be used to render fonts at any resolution without regenerating for the respective resolution. This saves computation time and also saves memory as the SDF can be smaller than the corresponding glyph at native resolution.Some of the features include:• Ability to generate SDF for both outline and bitmap glyphs.• Ability to generate SDF with glyphs having intersecting contours.• Uses a unique subdivision technique to improve performance by only computing relevant data and discard the rest.• Works for both OpenType and TrueType fonts as long as they don't have self intersecting contours.
