Started off with writing in a New York based weekly, then became an intern for a political party where I learnt about using social media to create influence and impact. Initially I was just writing, but a day came I thought, how difficult can it be to design? I learnt photoshop and basic designing via YouTube. Next thing? I landed an opportunity in an international non-profit working on public health where the scope of work was much more broader than just social media. I learnt more skills and was able to achieve designing a chapter of school curriculum for some states, editing and producing TVC and radio jingles for state NHMs, illustrating the new IEC based on COVID-19 needs, writing blogs, coordinating and working with state teams, capacity building, creating internal communication templates, and creating content (online and offline) from scratch for IFA Supplementation program. Following my heart and my strong intersectional feminist ideology, my next job was at CREA where I got to learn extensively about GBV, rights of all genders and sexualities, SRHR, disability justice and accessibility, feminist leadership and movements, and rights of sex workers. Something that'll always remain close to me is illustrating and designing 'An Affirmation of Feminist Principles', illustrating images for Annual report (2020-21), and hosting Instagram Lives!Taking my learnings from these experiences, I am now working at Global Fund Advocates Network Asia-Pacific which campaigns for a fully resourced Global Fund to eliminate HIV, TB, and malaria as epidemics; increased and sustainable domestic resource mobilisation for health; and equitable, people-centred, human rights-based and gender transformative inclusion of HIV, TB and malaria responses within UHC. My work involves illustrating, designing, writing (scripts, press release, campaign manifesto), social media management, event management and working with external consultants.
