As an Aquatic Technician/Biologist, I worked in the field Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, with occasional Saturdays, applying aquatic algaecides and herbicides using a spray boat, all-terrain vehicle, or backpack applicator. These products are used daily along with biological controls to manage algae and weeds in lakes and ponds. At other times, I worked in preserves and wetlands to target exotic plant species that invade Florida wetlands. Work included the identification and selective physical removal and/or treatment of nuisance and exotic weed species.

My responsibilities were prepping cars for painting and included, fixing minor dings and dents, de-waxing cars, removing emblems, sanding vehicles, masking vehicles, detailing vehicles and quality assurance on painted vehicles. My number one priority was to make sure the cars were properly prepped for painting. This included making sure that all paintable surfaces were free of oils, waxes and debris so that paint would have maximum adhesiveness. It also entailed proper sanding of the car and masking all surfaces that were not to receive painting. After the painted car dried, it was my responsibility to look over the entire vehicle to make sure there were no imperfections and report any to my immediate supervisor. If the car passed the quality assurance check, then the car would be detailed and all parts that were removed would be installed.

Duties included taking inbound calls and providing customer service on the operation of Vak Pak filtration systems including trouble shooting, operation procedures, permitting and start up. Inbound calls also consisted of scheduling service calls to inspect or fix the system or scheduling a local service company to do the repairs. Other inbound calls consisted of quoting Vak Pak systems to builders, contractors and engineers. Outbound calls consisted of follow up calls to assure the system had completed inspections, start-ups and to make sure that service calls and visits were done successfully. My duties also included performing quality assurance checks on assembled Vak Pak units. This included, but was not limited to, filling all tanks with water, running the pumps, checking all gauges and making sure there were no leaks in any of the plumbing.

Other duties included skip tracing in order to find delinquent clients, reviewing credit report to find possible sources of money, setting up payment plans and arranging debt settlement options in order to satisfy the client.
