As an experienced librarian, I am passionate about promoting literacy and a love of reading among students. I am comfortable working with online databases and other digital tools to support MYP and DP students in their research skills, including academic honesty, citation and referencing, annotated bibliography, literature review, fair use/copyright, and more. I am also skilled to organize events to encourage learners to love reading.As a librarian, I manage the acquisition, processing, organization, distribution, maintenance, preparing budget, and inventory of all campus library resources and subscriptions of print and online periodicals and databases. I am skilled at coordinating and supervising other library staff, leading the library team, and ensuring their appropriate training and regular performance appraisal. I attend staff meetings and Professional Development Programs (PDP) to stay up-to-date on industry trends and practices.I have experience in setting up libraries from scratch, as evidenced by my work setting up around a 1200 sqft Library at Taurian World School, Ranchi, Jharkhand, and the 3700sqft Library of Icfai Business School. I have also established and maintained effective working relationships with academic staff and students and provided reference support to faculty, researchers, and external members.I’m Pursuing a PGCE Level-5, an International Diploma in Education and Training, and I am qualified Master in Library and Information Science, a Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science, and a B. A (Honors) in Political Science, I bring a wealth of academic knowledge and expertise to my role. I am also skilled in a range of software, including MS Office, ETH Digital Campus, Libsuit, Libsys, Sierra ILS and Koha. My passion for education extends beyond my role as a librarian. I have completed courses such as the General Course on Intellectual Property Rights from WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) and the "Research Methodology and Thesis Writing" from Commacad.
