About Anusha Bhat
As a Scientist II at Shape Therapeutics, I lead the downstream development of highly purified recombinant adeno-associated virus (AAV) viral vectors for gene therapies. I spearhead the purification of rAAV from cell culture using state-of-the-art viral vector manufacturing technologies, such as fast protein liquid chromatography (FPLC), ultrafiltration/diafiltration (UF/DF), and tangential flow filtration (TFF). I also execute small-scale screening activities, lab-scale material generation for development studies, and generate new ideas for downstream tech dev initiatives and proposals for future projects.I have a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Rutgers University – New Brunswick, where I gained valuable research and teaching experience. I also have a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification, which demonstrates my ability to apply statistical and data analysis tools to support new product introduction and to improve existing processes. I have previously worked as a Scientist at WuXi Biologics and as a Co-Op at Bristol Myers Squibb and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, where I developed and characterized robust clinical processes for efficient, scalable, and cost-effective downstream purification of various biological materials. I am truly passionate about applying my skills and experience for the growth and benefit of the company that I work for and the advancement of the biotechnology industry. I am always interested in hearing from former colleagues, managers, or just interesting folk, so feel free to contact me if you’d like to connect or would like to discuss potential opportunities.
Listed skills include Lean Six Sigma, Aspen Plus, Matlab, Microsoft Excel, and 13 others.
