I am a PhD student keenly interested in agricultural research, focusing on low-cost and eco-friendly crop protection strategies and their long-term environmental impacts. It involves studying and developing innovative products that benefit both farmers and nature.My PhD research project aims to develop semiochemical-based alternative strategies for managing wireworms. The main objective is to investigate the role of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted by the roots of host crops in influencing wireworm behaviour. This knowledge can be used to optimize strategies for monitoring and managing wireworm populations. This research employs various techniques, including insect behavioural bioassays, volatile collection, gas chromatography (GC), GC-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), and GC-coupled electroantennography (GC-EAG).I also possess skills in collecting, preserving, curating, identifying, and dissecting insects. Additionally, I have practical experience in wet lab techniques such as cell culture, DNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, protein assays, molecular cloning, plant transformation, and tissue culture.
