As the Chair of the ICT Association Suriname I have been actively engaging with stakeholders of the digital economy ecosystem to contribute towards Digital Inclusion For Sustainable Development & Growth. Some of the milestones are: MOU with ICT Associations of 6 Caribbean countries Suriname, Grenada, Barbados, St.Lucia, Guyana, Belize.; Partnership with UNDP (Digital Inclusion for Sustainable Development); MOU with de eGovernment unit of the Cabinet of the President of Suriname; Launch of the ICT Vision 2030 Suriname; Contribution towards the first Tripartite Agreement between the 3 largest social partners of Suriname (government, unions and private sector), contribution towards the Multi-Annual Development Plan of Suriname, Collaboration with Suriname Trade and Industry Association and Association of Economists for the First Digital National Economic Dialogue. Chairing the ICT Association means representing 60 companies in the ICT / IT sector where approximately 2000 professionals work. I have learned a lot about being a servant leader who is also courageous to steer the organization during difficult times as never known before ( the global COVID-19 pandemic and financial economic crisis in Suriname).
