Later extended in 2017, A Lover's Conflict is the 3rd feature apart of Counts' Street Life Series, being proceeded by the play, Eye for an Eye. A Lover's Conflict, like the other plays in the Street Life Series, is based on the troubles faced by those struggling to survive in lower economic, predominately Black and modern urban American city environments.Plot: A new gang leader, Raheem, contemplates his life in the streets after the lost of his best-friend. He receives a warning by his adversary, Big Boon, and he finds himself back deep in "beef". When Raheem unknowingly falls for Big Boon's sister, Shakira, he once again finds himself questioning his lifestyle. In addition to Raheem's new romantic interest, his Grandma's constant pleas weigh heavy on him as he is active in an ongoing street war. Will Raheem get out before it's too late and find love in the process? Or, will he fight against his better judgement and fall victim to the Street Life?
