New Faculty RecruitmentThe dean examines the recommendations of the chair attached to the candidates’ credentials dossiers and puts his or her approval signature on the applications on which he or she has no objections. Applications rejected by the dean will not be sent to the HR; they will be returned to the chair for further study.2. Faculty OrientationThe dean is responsible for the drafting and updating of the school strategic plan that is sent upon completion to the faculty of the school. 3. Professional DevelopmentThe dean holds at least two training sessions per year (one in September, and one in January) on methodologies of teaching. He or she can also hold continuing education workshops and seminars as needed. 4. Performance EvaluationThe dean oversees the adherence of his or her subordinates to their job descriptions (as detailed in the school handbook) and their abidance by the lawful instructions of their superiors through the semester-based report submitted by the associate dean.He or she examines the associate dean’s report and takes note of his or her recommendations. He or she assesses the performance of the associate dean and adds his or her feedback to the report before sending it to the provost, the vice president and the campus directors 5.
