Specialist in Kohti tulevaa, a project for capacity-building in futures thinking and foresight in civil society. We aim to strengthen and develop the future of civil society and volunteering through participatory foresight, i.e. democratic foresight processes. Leading project communications and collaborating on the planning and delivery of a broad range of activities such as keynotes, futures thinking workshops and publications.

As Campaigns and Communications Officer, I held a dual position between policy and communications. My work focused on climate change and biodiversity loss in the context of the UK’s COP Presidency. In addition, I engaged in a variety of other embassy functions and supported priorities as needed e.g. during the pandemic. My key duties entailed project management and development, stakeholder outreach and engagement, as well as communications strategy and implementation. A focus area of mine was also evaluation of communications channels and development of data-driven diplomacy, including producing regular analytics reports.

My work was comprised of business and communications functions development, social media management and digital content production, as well as website maintenance and development, including a website renewal project using Wordpress.

In this role I contributed to a project studying the effects of the EU’s economic policy on disparity and climate change, taking part in project and event planning, background research, questionnaire design and communications, incl. videography.

As a freelancing translator, I worked with Finnish and English interchangeably. I translated challenging texts and adverts from Finnish into English, as well as market research surveys and interviews from English into Finnish and vice versa.

A co-founding member, I helped start the local chapter of AIESEC in Aberdeen. As a member of the executive board, I participated in business planning in a small team, implemented communications, including marketing and information campaigns. I learned and applied HR processes to recruit and retain members, for example conducting personal development talks with members to help acknowledge strengths.
