My name is Adiyah Obolu and I am a passionate leader dedicated to driving social change and fostering educational equity. At Yale University, I am pursuing a B.A. in Ethnicity, Race, and Migration, with a certificate in Education, all while exploring how education can intersect with justice to create a more equitable society. My commitment to these ideals has earned me recognition as a the UC Davis Brandon Harrison Youth Leadership Award and a recipient of the Sacramento Kings Youth Huddle Award.As a student assistant at Yale's Afro-American cultural center, I lead initiatives and plan events that empower Yale's Black community and the broader New Haven area. In addition, I am the Communications Director for the Yale Black Muslim Student Association, where I amplify Black joy and engagement, and a Creative Director for Word at Yale, where I use spoken word as a tool for expression and healing.I am driven by a deep-seated belief in the power of radical love and community. My journey is fueled by a desire to reimagine society through the lens of justice and to inspire others to do the same.
