My fascination is with human performance, why we succeed or struggle in different environments.In the modern first world, we’re fortunate to be grappling with a better class of problem: how do I get the most from my capability, how do I fulfil my potential?By moving into a way of work that is primarily brain-centric, we’re only catching up with how to keep ourselves in shape mentally and emotionally. My work is focused on helping people thrive in a modern environment, on how to maintain mental wellbeing and develop working wisdom.I’ve worked in various roles & organisations for over two decades evolving from the technical world to the psychological, while continually blending the two.Through my business Smarter Egg, I work to help people in different contexts: organisations, business owners, self-employed, high-calibre professionals. My coaching style is non-prescriptive and compassionate, rooted in the tenets of positive psychology.My professional interest is in enhancing our model of ‘distributed coaching’: the evolution of the traditional coach-client model into a wider conversation involving peer support and challenge. This model has evolved from the Smarter Egg Network and positive results suggest great potential in organisational contexts also.I also give talks on a range of topics, and regularly act as MC/interviewer for events and conferences. We also run our own private events, the popular Smarter Eggs at The White Horse, where inspiring speakers and guests interact in an intimate environment.
