I work in the visuals team at the Belfast Telegraph and Sunday Life, both Mediahuis publications. My day-to-day responsibilities vary, with some days spent out in the field capturing photos and videos, and others working on the picture and video desk. In June 2021, I was honoured to be nominated for the Diana Award, the highest accolade recognising individuals for their contributions to social action, diversity, and humanitarianism. Out of 450 nominees from 2020 and 2021, only 20 individuals worldwide were selected to receive the distinguished Diana Legacy Award, which was assessed by an external judging panel chaired by Lord Spencer. I am proud to have been one of those 20 recipients and the only honouree from the island of Ireland in December 2021. I received the award from Lord Spencer at Althorp House in Northamptonshire and later had the privilege of meeting Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, at Kensington Palace, where I shared my passion for the arts and discussed its importance in my community.As part of this incredible journey, I joined 19 fellow changemakers in a week-long development programme focused on communication, stress management, goal setting, leadership, networking, personal branding, and media training. I also visited Gilead Sciences, a sponsor of The Diana Award, where I was paired with a mentor, Allan Collins, Executive Director of International Regulatory Affairs. I have regular fortnightly virtual meetings with Allan, which have provided invaluable guidance and support for my personal and professional growth.

Having been honoured with the prestigious Diana Legacy Award in 2021, I returned as a judge in 2023 alongside a distinguished panel to evaluate and celebrate the accomplishments of 20 remarkable young leaders, visionaries, and role models from around the world to get awarded in 2024.

In April 2019, I founded Derry Footage, a Facebook page dedicated to sharing news, stories, and memories from my hometown of Derry/Londonderry. The page quickly grew in popularity and now boasts over 25,000 followers. It became a platform where I showcased my freelance work, engaging local audiences with compelling visuals and news content that resonated with the community.The experience complemented my broader work in journalism, allowing me to connect directly with viewers and hone my skills in photography, video production, and storytelling.However, as I transitioned to full-time work with Mediahuis in April 2023, my involvement with Derry Footage naturally slowed, though its legacy as a trusted source for local content remains a significant part of my career journey.

I worked part-time as a customer assistant at Lidl Derry (Store 407), a 2,217 square metre superstore that opened in 2021 and has since become one of the busiest Lidl stores on the island of Ireland.In my role, I was responsible for interacting with customers in a friendly, pleasant, and helpful manner, ensuring their shopping experience was positive. I also maintained high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the store, made sure the correct quantity and quality of goods were available, and followed strict freshness and rotation principles.Additionally, I was involved in managing waste correctly, assisting with stock counts, and supporting a range of other operational tasks to ensure the smooth running of the store.

Greater Shantallow Community Arts (GSCA) is a community arts organisation dedicated to providing access to the arts for disadvantaged communities in the Greater Shantallow Area and the Outer North Region of Derry/Londonderry.My role focused on producing high-quality videos that highlight GSCA's impactful work, including conducting interviews, capturing events and projects, and editing the footage for social media. These videos not only showcase the charity's efforts but also serve as a vital tool for engaging funders and securing additional support to facilitate more community events and projects.Beyond video production, I’ve had the privilege of leading youth media projects with GSCA, working alongside a diverse group of young people and adults. Using my expertise in camera operation, sound, lighting, and editing, I helped bring their creative visions to life.

The ranking was based on the number of five-star reviews from TripAdvisor’s top-rated pubs and bars, and I was proud to contribute to the success of such a well-regarded venue.
