In June 2021, I was honoured to be nominated for the Diana Award, the highest accolade recognising individuals for their contributions to social action, diversity, and humanitarianism. Out of 450 nominees from 2020 and 2021, only 20 individuals worldwide were selected to receive the distinguished Diana Legacy Award, which was assessed by an external judging panel chaired by Lord Spencer. I am proud to have been one of those 20 recipients and the only honouree from the island of Ireland in December 2021. I received the award from Lord Spencer at Althorp House in Northamptonshire and later had the privilege of meeting Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, at Kensington Palace, where I shared my passion for the arts and discussed its importance in my community.As part of this incredible journey, I joined 19 fellow changemakers in a week-long development programme focused on communication, stress management, goal setting, leadership, networking, personal branding, and media training. I also visited Gilead Sciences, a sponsor of The Diana Award, where I was paired with a mentor, Allan Collins, Executive Director of International Regulatory Affairs. I have regular fortnightly virtual meetings with Allan, which have provided invaluable guidance and support for my personal and professional growth.
