About Aoife Devlin

I have been employed as a barista/supervisor for Bob and Berts since May 2022. Also within this role I have also been responsible for deli food, deli prep, kitchen porter, working on the till and face-to-face public interactions with orders. My shift pattern has included a mixture of quiet hours to extreme rush hour which I have managed with ease and demonstrated that I can work under demand and pressure along with the team. I assist in the closing shifts which includes cleaning the coffee machine and associated tasks. I am communicating and interacting daily with customers from taking orders, elaborating on food content and helping them with food choices, identifying any dietary requirements e.g allergies and alerting them to special offers. Within this role, I am challenged with different styles of customers, both in manner, ethnic origin, language barriers and expectations. I believe that my interpersonal skills and personal attributes have developed over time that enables me to manage different customer interactions, challenges or conflicts, to obtain a good outcome both for the customer and the reputation of my employer.I have previously worked in McDonalds and have achieved the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and as a team to takeorders and deliver food promptly. In this role I have learnt:• How customer service and presentation are vital, giving me the skills to successfully interact with amultitude of different people.• Once again this has shown me the importance of teamwork and communication in making a teamsuccessful as an overall body, delivering the best and most efficient service.• Successfully have learnt to multitask to serve more than one customer at a time and do various tasks• Main duties performed include welcoming and greeting customers, taking food orders, preparing food,serving food, handling cash and processing payments.I am also the president of Queens surf club. For this role, I have the ability to organiseevents/trips, work as a team with members and have a friendly personality to interact with people.Over the past six years, I have volunteered for Marie Currie service participating in street collections intwo of my local towns twice a year.I also volunteered at the Wave Project NI, which is a 6-week programme. It has the rightbalance of challenge, excitement, fun and working as a group. This is a charity which harnesses thepower of the ocean to improve the mental health of children and young people and those sociallydisadvantaged helping them to build confidence and self-esteem.
