Radio astronomy skillsets in physics, engineering, and data science and computing represent a valuable resource in problem-solving, with shared benefits across economy, environment, and culture. I lead the ICRAR-Curtin Translation and Impact team. We support engagement with industry, government, and community organisations to translate core radio astronomy skillsets and outcomes for impact beyond academia, to deliver benefits to Western Australia’s economy, society, environment and culture.My team support the delivery of translation and impact (T&I) initiatives as diverse as:- supporting the local economy by fostering career pathways through radio astronomy, via electrical engineering, physics, data science and computing.- engaging local SME expertise to support science projects; - supporting industry to solve complex problems through research collaboration.- whole of lifecycle project governance.- communicating effectively with wide-ranging stakeholders, from SMEs, to big industry, State and Federal Governments, national and international research collaborators.

The MWA is a low-frequency radio telescope, located at the Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory (MRO) in Western Australia where the future Square Kilometre Array (SKA) low-frequency array will be built.
